Firing Systems

Firing or initiation systems are used for explosive firing. These are typically used for firing disruptors during an EOD or C-IED task.

Radio Controlled Firing System EOD009914

  • Designed for teams that need to fire disrupters, de-armers or detonators using a radio controlled system instead of hard wired.
  • Radio systems are quick to deploy and do not require a cable to be run between the operator and the device to be fired.
  • Radio systems are typically lighter and easier to transport than hard wire systems. They also are quicker to pack away once the task is completed
  • The NIC radio controlled firing systems is a securely coded remote firing (RF) initiator, which allows up to 4 receivers to be fired from 1 transmitter.
  • Suitable for use in Explosive Methods of Entry (EMOE), demolitions and EOD/IEDD disruptor applications.
  • Receivers can be fired simultaneously or individually.
  • Powered by COTS batteries. Transmitter uses 3 off AA batteries, receivers use single CRT123 battery.
  • Transmitter is waterproof to IP64, receivers are waterproof to IP67.
  • BAM-certified.
  • Standard system consists of 1 transmitter and 1 receiver.

Wired Firing System EOD009912

  • Designed for teams that need to fire disrupters, de-armers or detonators using wire.
  • Wired systems are extremely secure and do not risk any form of radio interference stopping the task.
  • The NIC Instruments wired firing systems is a single channel initiator.
  • Suitable for use in Explosive Methods of Entry (EMOE), demolitions and EOD/IEDD disruptor applications.
  • Powered by COTS batteries.
  • The wired firing system has a continuity tester integrated.
